President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi witnessing the body of his father and the Retired President of the second phase of the United Republic of Tanzania, being removed from his home in Mikocheni and headed to the Bakwata Grand Mosque for burial and later to Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Retired President Mzee Ali Hassan Mwinyi passed away on 29 February 2024 in Mzena hospital, Dar es Salaam while he was receiving treatment.
