Soccer star Dani Alves found guilty of sexual assault by Spanish judges

Former Barcelona and Brazil full-back Dani Alves has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sexual assault.

Alves, 40, was arrested by local police in January 2023 as part of an investigation into an claimed sexual assault at a nightclub in Barcelona.

The Spanish public prosecutor’s office claimed that Alves sexually assaulted a 23-year-old woman on the night of December 30, 2022, at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. He has constantly declined the charges against him.
