Joheirry Mola Dominguez from the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026 in Vietnam, with Spain and Malaysia securing the runner-up positions.

Dominguez was crowned the winner of the 73rd Miss World competition during the grand finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Saturday, September 5, triumphing over finalists from Malaysia, Vietnam, Eritrea, Spain, and South Africa.

Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern secured the position of first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty took home the title of second runner-up.

Dominguez was crowned by her predecessor, Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who made history last year as the first contestant from Thailand to win the Miss World title.

In the final round, Dominguez was posed the question, “Which Beauty with a Purpose initiative have you supported in your country, and what improvements would you suggest if you were to be crowned Miss World?”

In her response, she discussed her initiative to bring English programs to children in vulnerable communities, portraying the language as a means to unlock opportunities for young people.

My Beauty with a Purpose is to provide English programs to children in vulnerable communities, as I believe that mastering this language can unlock significant opportunities for them. I was conversing with the girls and sharing that because of this tool, we find ourselves here today. It allows us to convey our emotions and articulate our intentions. For me, it is something I will always value, knowing that I can provide these children with something so significant. It is a resource that will accompany them and provide advantages throughout their lives.


The Miss World organization characterizes Dominguez as a committed educator, community advocate, and communicator.

The 24-year-old possesses a degree in business management and administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and serves as the founder and president of Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative dedicated to promoting English education for children and young people in vulnerable communities.

She teaches literature and social studies in English and serves as a correspondent for Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, covering Dominican culture, social issues, and community stories.

Dominguez, a professional model and Goya Gives Ambassador, shares her personal motto: “The greatest gift you can offer is the opportunity that you once needed yourself to grow, move forward, and transform your life.”

Her victory positions the Dominican Republic at the forefront of the Miss World platform for the upcoming year, as Tanzania prepares to host the next edition of the pageant.
