Kenya’s pause to Haiti deployment after PM’s Ariel Henry resignation

Kenya will postpone the deployment of its police officials to Haiti after the Caribbean country’s battered Prime Minister Ariel Henry step down on Monday.

Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’oei said Henry’s resignation had changed the circumstances on the ground as there is no standing government to work with the mission yet.

The move means the desired dates for the disposition of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission to Haiti, endorsed by the UN Security Council in October past year, will be pulled further.
