
Rwanda and Algeria sign 11 agreements for cooperation
Rwanda and Algeria signed 11 cooperation agreements in several development domains on Tuesday, June 3, under the auspices of President Paul Kagame and his Algerian colleague Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Kagame is on a two-day official visit to the North African nation at his counterpart’s invitation.
A wide range of businesses, including the air service, communication, police, pharmaceutical, higher education, and visa exemption, have signed agreements. Additionally, agreements exist in the areas of professional training, investment promotion, entrepreneurship, telecommunication, justice, and agriculture.

Additionally, Rwanda’s Embassy in Algeria is set to open soon, according to President Kagame.

They restated their dedication to enhancing Rwanda’s and Algeria’s long-standing collaboration.
The leaders’ tête-à-tête also covered the significance of intra-African collaboration, emphasizing free commerce and the sharing of knowledge and skills.
Lessons acquired from rebuilding a nation after a challenging past were also explored.
In remembrance of the courageous individuals who gave their lives during the Algerian War of Independence, Kagame put a wreath at the Maqam Echahid (Martyrs’ Memorial) in Cairo.
At their most recent meeting, which took place in December 2024 in Nouakchott, Mauritania, on the sidelines of the Continental Forum on Education and Youth Employability, the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen their bilateral ties, specifically in the fields of education, defense, and security, as well as potential new collaborations in infrastructure and agriculture.
