Russia mockingly calls Macron “Micron,” rejects peacekeeping proposals, and warns him about his nuclear rhetoric

Macron’s plan for peacekeeping has been rejected by Russia, which also calls him “Micron” and issues a warning about nuclear hyperbole threats.

On Thursday, Russia forewarned French President Emmanuel Macron not to use nuclear threats against it. It also ridiculed Macron’s height by referring to him as “Micron” and rejected European plans to deploy NATO peacekeeping troops to Ukraine.

In a speech to the country on Wednesday, Macron stated that Russia posed a threat to Europe, that Paris could talk about offering its nuclear umbrella to friends, and that he would meet with army leaders from European nations that would be willing to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine following a peace agreement.

According to the Kremlin, Macron wanted the war in Ukraine to go on and the speech was very hostile.

“This speech is obviously a threat to Russia,” stated Sergei Lavrov, the foreign minister.

The Kremlin and White House have warned that mistakes could lead to World War Three, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has resulted in the largest conflict between the West and Russia since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

With more than 5,000 nuclear warheads apiece, Russia and the US are the two largest nuclear-armed nations in the world. But according to the Federation of American Scientists, China has roughly 500, France has 290, and Britain has 225.

Macron was accused by Russian MPs and officials of using language that might drive the world closer to the edge of the abyss. In 1812, he was shown in Russian cartoons as Napoleon Bonaparte galloping into defeat in Russia.

However, Micron himself is not a serious threat. He will vanish permanently on or before May 14, 2027. As Macron’s mandate draws to a close, former President Dmitry Medvedev wrote on X, “And he won’t be missed.”

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the foreign ministry, claimed that Macron might seek assistance determining the size of his actual military and that his speech carried “notes of nuclear blackmail” that amounted to a threat to Russia.

With the provision of its own “nuclear umbrella,” Paris’ aspirations to become the nuclear “patron” of all of Europe have exploded into the open, nearly displacing the American one. It goes without saying that neither France nor its partners’ security will be strengthened as a result of this,” the statement stated.

European politicians fear that Washington is abandoning Europe as a result of Russian advances in Ukraine and US President Donald Trump’s reversal of US military policy.

Russian authorities cite Russia’s military victories in Ukraine and claim that severe language from Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and other European leaders is not supported by actual military force.

Macron’s plan to send peacekeepers to Ukraine was rejected by Lavrov and the Kremlin, who said that Russia would not accept it.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated, “We are talking about such a confrontational deployment of an ephemeral contingent.”

Moscow would see such a deployment as NATO’s presence in Ukraine, according to Lavrov.

Western claims that Russia would attack a NATO member in the future have been rejected by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

After the fall of the Soviet Union and NATO’s incursion into what he views as Moscow’s area of influence, Putin frames the war as part of a historic conflict with the West.

The Kremlin claimed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s portrayal of the conflict this week as a proxy war between the US and Russia was accurate.

In reality, Russia and the West as a whole are at odds over this. And the United States of America is the principal nation in the Western world.

Peskov uttered those words. “We both agree that this war and this conflict need to end.”
