After serving time in jail, Zamalek star apologizes

Star of Egypt and Zamalek Ahmed Fetouh, who was out on bond from prison, issued a statement pleading for forgiveness.

The 26-year-old was under the influence of drugs when he caused an automobile collision on the Cairo-Alexandria road last month, which resulted in the death of a police officer.

As a result, the left-back-turned-winger was arrested and later freed on bond; the trial was postponed until October 22.

Now that Fetouh is back in training with Zamalek, he has released the following statement.

“I extend my sincere sympathies to the departed person’s family. A statement said, “Words cannot express how I feel, and words cannot console the bereaved family.

“I’m hoping to personally give my sympathies to the family. I shall always carry the events of that day in my heart and mind.

“My intention in going to training was not to offend anyone.” Given that I haven’t been able to train for the last 40 days, I have a contract with Zamalek that I must honor.

“I make a lifelong commitment to the daughters of the deceased, and I will do everything in my power to win their forgiveness,” the speaker swears before God.

In addition to helping Zamalek win two Egyptian Premier League championships and the CAF Confederation Cup, he has 28 caps for Egypt.
