ECB Policymaker Rehn indicates that wage growth continues to be moderate throughout the Eurozone

ECB policymaker Olli Rehn indicates that wage growth continues to be moderate throughout the euro zone, with no evident signs of second-round inflation effects.

Olli Rehn, a policymaker at the European Central Bank, stated on Wednesday that wage growth and the wage outlook throughout the euro zone have stayed moderate, showing no evident signs of second-round effects.

Rehn, who also serves as the governor of Finland’s central bank, emphasized that it is essential to keep inflation expectations firmly anchored to sustain this trend.

“It will be essential to anchor inflation expectations to sustain this trend,” Rehn stated in the written text of a speech.

His comments arise as the ECB persistently observes wage trends and inflation expectations while evaluating the future of monetary policy.

The central bank is set to announce its upcoming monetary policy decision on September 10.
