Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia employed North Korean ballistic missiles in overnight attacks that resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals throughout Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian officials, six individuals lost their lives and 19 were injured in Zaporizhzhia, while three others died in Dnipropetrovsk.
Zelenskyy stated that the strikes on Zaporizhzhia utilized North Korean ballistic missiles and characterized the assault as a “vicious attack, calculated to inflict maximum damage specifically on civilian infrastructure.”
Explosions were reported in Kyiv, where Zelenskyy stated that a strike caused damage to an infectious disease hospital and resulted in one person being wounded.
He noted that Russian strikes on substations in Kherson and Kharkiv resulted in power outages.
“Every action Russia undertakes—ramping up ballistic missile production, acquiring North Korean equipment, gearing up for mobilization—clearly indicates that Moscow is not preparing for peace but rather for escalation,” Zelensky stated.
He urged Ukraine’s allies to take action by implementing further sanctions and providing enhanced air defense support.
Meanwhile, Ukraine persisted in its extensive drone operations targeting locations within Russia.
A drone attack resulted in fires at a Wildberries location in the Voronezh region of Russia. The retailer, frequently referred to as Russia’s counterpart to Amazon, has been the focus of multiple recent strikes from Ukraine.
