England striker Ivan Toney has been charged with assault after an incident at a London nightclub in December 2025.
Toney was charged on July 31 with assault causing actual bodily harm and is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on September 24.
The charge pertains to an incident that is said to have taken place in Soho on December 6, 2025.
A spokesperson for Toney stated that the striker recognizes the charge and, although understandably taken aback, is eager to have the chance to vindicate himself in court.
Toney is presently a player for the Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli and was part of England’s World Cup squad earlier this summer.
The 30-year-old made a late appearance in England’s 2-1 semifinal defeat to Argentina before starting the third-place playoff against France, which England won 6-4. He has earned 10 international caps and scored one goal.
Prior to his move to Saudi Arabia, Toney played a pivotal role in assisting Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League from the Championship. He netted 36 goals in 85 appearances in the Premier League and has also represented Northampton Town, Newcastle United, and Peterborough United.
