FIFA’s senior leadership has collectively reaffirmed its unwavering support for president Gianni Infantino after an emergency meeting in Rabat, Morocco, which focused on the repercussions of the governing body’s halted initiative to sell stakes in World Cup commercial rights to private investors.
The crisis meeting was convened following several days of increasing criticism from football stakeholders, including UEFA, national associations, and influential people in the sport, with some demanding Infantino’s resignation due to the unsuccessful proposal.
