The Tanzania Women’s Premier League title has been successfully regained by Simba Queens. The Queens officially secured the 2025/2026 Tanzania Women’s Premier League title by defeating Mashujaa Queens 5-2 in a league match held on Sunday at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

They secured the championship with two matches remaining in the season. Kenyan international Jentrix Shikangwa, the club’s leading goal-scorer, netted a brace in the match, bringing her total in the league this season to 16 goals.

Simba Queens secured a comfortable victory in their match, while their rivals Yanga Princess fell further behind after drawing 1-1 with third-placed JKT Queens.

The victory for Simba Queens indicates that Yanga Princesses, currently at 44 points, are unable to equal or exceed the former’s total of 56, with only two matches remaining in the season.

Simba Queens, the champions of the Tanzania Women’s Premier League, will now represent the nation in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal qualifiers set to be held in Rwanda.
