Oman reports that no group has taken responsibility for the attacks on its territory
Oman’s foreign ministry expressed on Sunday its condemnation of attacks on its territory, noting that no party has taken responsibility for the incidents.
Authorities indicated they were looking into the “sources and motives” behind the attacks but did not offer additional details or identify any particular incident.
On Saturday, Oman reported that a worker sustained injuries from a drone attack at Salalah port. Maersk, a Danish container shipping company, declared that it had temporarily halted its operations at the port after this incident.
On Saturday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced that they had targeted a U.S. support vessel at a significant distance from Salalah port, according to Iranian media reports. The statement emphasized, “As we have previously stated, the national sovereignty of our brotherly and friendly country Oman is respected by the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
On March 11, drones targeted oil storage facilities at Salalah port. During a phone call, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian informed Oman’s sultan that the incident would undergo a thorough investigation.
