Thailand is set to establish a new government, as announced by the Prime Minister

The prime minister of Thailand has announced that the country will establish a new government, indicating a forthcoming transition of power.

On Saturday, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his anticipation for the formation of a new government in the country by next week, with a cabinet list awaiting royal endorsement.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has announced that the country is set to establish a new government next week, with a list of cabinet members scheduled for submission for royal approval on Monday.

During a press conference, Anutin announced that the new administration would promptly deliver its policy statement to parliament, enabling it to commence its work without any delay. The statement is anticipated to be released between April 7 and 9, primarily reflecting the campaign promises made by his Bhumjaithai Party.

Party officials indicate that key priorities involve implementing the next phase of a consumer subsidy scheme designed to alleviate the cost of living.

Anutin expressed his apologies for the recent public frustration regarding the management of oil prices. He clarified that although the government initially set a price cap for 15 days to mitigate the effects, ongoing tensions in the Middle East necessitated the implementation of new measures.

The government has concluded the price cap and is preparing to implement an oil tax reduction in conjunction with additional support measures. Officials indicate that subsidies will continue to be partially supported by the oil fund.

Officials aimed to calm the public by confirming that fuel supplies are stable, noting that Thailand has approximately 107 days of oil reserves and anticipates further shipments in the months of April and May.

Efforts are currently being made to obtain additional supplies, including outreach to various oil-producing nations. The Commerce Ministry is currently overseeing market prices to avert any significant hikes.

As the country gears up for a leadership transition, investigations into economic pressures and policy adjustments are ongoing.
