Ray J Quietly Obtained $6 Million Settlement in Kardashian Sex Tape Disagreement, Contract Uncovered
Ray J was said to have received $6 million to resolve conflicts with Kim Kardashian related to their notorious 2007 sex tape.
Documents acquired by TMZ reveal that the 2023 confidential agreement aimed to settle years of legal disputes related to the tape. The document also featured signatures from Kris Jenner and Sonja Norwood, Ray J’s mother, binding all parties to a confidential agreement intended to bring a definitive end to the matter.
The agreement involved more than just a financial transaction. A mutual release of claims was enforced, preventing all parties involved from making negative statements regarding each other’s reputation or business. Nonetheless, that silence was short-lived, as Ray J subsequently initiated a lawsuit in 2025, asserting that the agreement was breached following discussions of the tape on Hulu’s “The Kardashians.”
That’s the point at which everything changes.
Kardashian and Jenner have refuted any involvement in the release of the tape and have challenged Ray J’s assertions, yet he remains steadfast in his account of the situation. The current emphasis has shifted from past allegations to the question of whether the $6 million agreement was violated.
In this case, the payout did not resolve the dispute. It has been reopened.
Neither Kardashian nor Jenner has commented publicly on the settlement’s disclosure.
