DaBaby discloses that his booking fee plummeted from $300K to $30K following the homophobic scandal in 2021
The discussion regarding DaBaby and the decline in his show rate has intensified after the rapper revealed new insights into the changes in his career following the controversy in 2021.
During his appearance on “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game,” DaBaby revealed that at his peak, he was earning between $300,000 and $500,000 per show. “I had a packed calendar of shows: 350K, 350K, 375K, 400K, 300K,” he explained. Nevertheless, following the criticism related to his comments at Rolling Loud Miami, that figure decreased significantly.
He informed host Wallo267 that he “went back down to 30,000,” yet he emphasized that he didn’t allow the decrease in bookings to hinder him.
“I went and got that,” he said, demonstrating his continued engagement despite the reduced fee.
In July 2021, DaBaby encountered backlash after addressing the audience, stating, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS… then put your cellphone lighter up,” accompanied by further remarks that ignited controversy. The news circulated rapidly, and the reactions from fans and industry partners came just as swiftly.
He subsequently released a public apology, stating, “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made… I recognize the importance of education on this matter.”
Despite the shifting numbers, DaBaby emphasized that his work ethic remained unwavering.
