Dumani Ndlovu Speaks Out: Doja Cat’s Father Alleges “Brainwashing” Caused Their Separation

The Sarafina actor responds to deadbeat allegations, attributing the family rift to Doja’s mother.

The intrigue surrounding Doja Cat’s relationship with her father has just become more complicated. Dumisani Dlamini, the South African actor recognized for his role in Sarafina, has taken to social media to share his perspective on the matter.

For years, the public has branded him an absent father, yet Dlamini now asserts that he was driven out of his daughter’s life by her mother.

Dlamini recently shared a video with his followers, in which he defended his history as a provider. He remarked, “Greetings, my wonderful friends.” I am aware of every channel and social media platform available today. It feels significant for me, especially since many have been commenting that Dumani has been silent and not expressing anything. Today, I wish to share a fact with you. I have put in tremendous effort to establish my name, which represents my reputation. I have dedicated myself tirelessly to advocating for this country alongside Sarafina, and I established a platform that has shaped the world as it is today. Along the way, I encountered Do Soal, whom I chose to name Zandel.

Dlamini attributes the gap between himself and the superstar to claims of parental alienation. He asserts that during his time living abroad, he provided support to his partner and her children from a prior relationship, only to see the story change once Doja achieved fame.

“Nobody has any idea what transpired,” he went on. “But today, without a media briefing, let me tell you that you can’t be in a foreign country and find a woman, a white woman with three kids, and then have two kids with her. She becomes so fortunate that she gives birth to a superstar, and then she informs the superstar that your father is not a decent man.” I am referring to a Jewish woman who is white.

He stressed that he never deserted his children and held Doja’s mother responsible for “brainwashing” her into thinking he had left. He noted that they had even traveled to South Africa and met his family previously, a detail he believes the media overlooks. “Today I want to express to everyone that I refuse to be exploited by a white woman with three children, whom I supported financially using the funds from Saraphina, along with my name and my reputation as a decent man.” I cherish my children. I looked after her children. Deborah. Three children, Caucasian children. They despised me.

This action comes after a notably public and unusual interaction. Recently, Doja Cat disclosed that she sent her father a link to gay porn, advising him to use that same link to purchase tickets to her show. This comment was a straightforward reply to Dlamini’s assertion that he couldn’t make it to her performance due to her insufficient calls or messages to him.

In spite of the tension, Dlamini concluded his statement by urging fans to refrain from turning against his daughter. “I hope you can find it in your heart to be kind to my baby.” I kindly ask that you refrain from speaking to my baby, but please understand that my love for her is immense. She is an exceptional artist, yet her mother has influenced her with negativity, which has affected her confidence and creative expression. Tranquility. That’s profound, my friend. I live for myself, not for others’ approval. I am an impression. I transform my fear into something that I can control. I am a son of God. I truly appreciate it. Be well.
