Shyne confronts Brandy for refuting their ’90s romance, likening it to her previous falsehoods, urging her to “stop lying to protect your image”

A wave of nostalgia from the late ’90s has emerged in a public interaction between R&B legend Brandy and rapper-turned-politician Shyne.

Following Brandy’s strong denial on social media earlier this week regarding any romantic involvement with Shyne, the rapper reiterated his assertions, implying that she is once again placing her public image above the reality of the situation.

In a video clip shared online, Shyne conveyed his disappointment regarding Brandy’s rejection of their history. “Brandy is out here denying that she dated both me and Ma$e simultaneously.” “Come on, man, cut it out,” he said. He maintained that his account of the events is entirely accurate and made a direct comparison to a famous previous controversy regarding her marital status. “She’s being dishonest once more, just as she was on Oprah when she claimed she wasn’t married.” She appeared on the show and claimed she wasn’t married to safeguard her reputation but later had to return and apologize when the truth was revealed.

Shyne refers to the 2002 incident in which Brandy asserted that she was married to producer Robert “Big Bert” Smith to uphold a particular image during her pregnancy, a claim she later acknowledged was false during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Brandy swiftly took to Instagram to dispel the rumors, emphasizing that her relationship with Shyne was purely “platonic” and labeling the dating claims as false.

As Brandy dedicates her efforts to her forthcoming memoir, Phases, in which she vows to clarify numerous misconceptions about her life, Shyne stands resolute in his position, asserting that the truth remains unchanged despite her refutations.
