Paul Pierce faces a paternity lawsuit following the filing of court documents by a LA event planner
A Los Angeles event planner has filed a new paternity lawsuit naming former NBA player Paul Pierce and requesting that the court order a DNA test.
In a January 12 court filing, Princess Santiago requested DNA testing to establish whether Pierce is her son’s biological father. At this point, the lawsuit just focuses on proving paternity and does not include requests for child support or monetary damages.
Santiago, a Los Angeles-based event director, claims that before pursuing legal action, she tried to resolve the matter out of court. She added in a statement given to TMZ, “I filed for paternity papers after multiple attempts to resolve this privately.” I am just requesting a paternity test to verify that Paul Pierce is the father of my son, King. Accountability and doing what’s best for my child are the main goals here, not drama or attention.
Pierce, 48, has not discussed the complaint in public. His lawyer declined to comment, and according to court documents, no hearing date has been set as of yet.
Following basketball, Pierce’s life entered a period of significant events at the time of the filing. He was taken into custody in late 2024 on suspicion of driving under the influence. Pierce entered a not guilty plea and openly denied the facts of the stop, but prosecutors ultimately prosecuted him.
After a stellar career that including 10 All-Star selections and a championship with the Boston Celtics, Pierce announced his retirement from the NBA in 2017. Pierce had three children with his former wife, Julie Landrum Pierce. In 2023, the pair parted ways.
