At the team’s first meeting of the year, Michael Rhodes, Sanders’ head of security, took center stage to disclose the startling degree of danger the head coach must contend with. Rhodes claims that five death threats are currently made against “Coach Prime” every day, a situation that has made the football stadium a high-security area.
Deion Sanders Jr. posted a video of the warning, which was a direct order to the players to cease being careless with facility access. “My name is Rhodes. Rhodes informed the roster, “I am Coach Prime’s head of security.” “I have a brief thing to say. For those of you who are new, pay attention to who enters the facilities with you in the morning, particularly when using the elevator. Because everyone is attempting to reach Coach Prime, don’t allow anyone to force you to scan them up on the floor. Not all of the individuals attempting to reach them are well-meaning. Just keep that in mind and avoid propping open any doors because, in my opinion, if the doors are open, they will let themselves in. After that, they will need to meet me.
Sanders, who echoed Rhodes’ comments, clarified that the unrelenting hate is a regrettable consequence of his fame and reputation. “Death threats are constantly coming in,” Sanders stated. “Why?” As a Black man, I’m making things happen, moving things along, and doing all of that. We thus have genuine material.
Since his time as a Jackson State police officer, Rhodes has been a dependable part of Sanders’ inner circle. He finally relocated to Boulder to act as “private security to the head coach.”
