The prime minister declares Slovenia will not join Trump’s “Board of Peace”

U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to join his purported “Board of Peace” will not be accepted by Slovenia, according to Prime Minister Robert Golob on Wednesday.

Trump has sent an invitation to dozens of international leaders to join the U.S.-led project, which he would lead. The initiative’s initial goal would be to put an end to the bloodshed in Gaza, but it would eventually be broadened to address other conflicts.

Other nations, including some with tense relations with Washington, have accepted Trump’s offer, while other longtime U.S. allies have reacted carefully and, in a few instances, rejected it due to worries it could undermine the UN’s mission.

According to N1, Golob has stated that he will attend the European Council leaders’ meeting in Brussels on Thursday rather than the signing of the initiative’s founding charter at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Slovenia is a member of both NATO and the European Union.
