Et’o supports Pagou as Cameroon prioritizes stability over change

FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o has confirmed that David Pagou will continue to lead the Indomitable Lions, ending rumors over the future of the head coach of the Cameroonian national team.

Eto’o clarified that the choice was strategic and well-thought-out, motivated by the necessity for consistency during the national team’s rebuilding phase. The former African Footballer of the Year claims that frequent bench changes will only impede development and interfere with Cameroonian football’s long-term goals.

There won’t be any abrupt resets or dismissals. Rather, FECAFOOT is choosing to stick with Pagou because they believe he will develop with the team and build a foundation that goes beyond immediate outcomes. According to Eto’o, constructing a competitive national team calls for perseverance, organization, and faith in the current technical direction.

The emphasis now is on long-term success rather than short-term solutions. Pagou was kept on and had the federation’s full support.
