Ye’s trademark suffers a severe blow as “Yews” and numerous applications fail

Ye’s trademark issues persist as authorities abandon hundreds of filings, including Donda and Yeezus.

Ye appears to be suffering yet another serious setback in the economic realm. Due to his legal team’s failure to keep up with the paperwork, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has formally withdrawn numerous of the rapper’s trademark applications.

RadarOnline claims that this extensive search encompassed 20 distinct applications for the term “Yews,” a trademark that Ye has been attempting to utilize on anything from food and beverages to jewelry and home goods.

When Ye started Yews News, an alt-right news website, in 2024, the “Yews” brand made its debut. The website was only operational for a few months, and it appears that the trademarks did the same. Simply because Ox Paha, Ye’s trademark firm, failed to produce evidence of the marks’ actual usage in time for federal deadlines, many of these filings expired.

According to rumors, Ox Paha hasn’t had a single application accepted by the trademark office in the previous five years, which makes the issue even more embarrassing for Ye’s team. Other famous names connected to Ye’s legacy have also been dropped as a result of this lack of execution.

Applications for Ye, Yeezus, Yeezy Sound, and Donda are among the “dead” filings that have been abandoned, which may surprise fans.

Regarding the careless handling of the artist’s intellectual property, a source clarified, “These filings expired because the proper steps weren’t completed in time.”

Ye loses the exclusive legal right to use these names in a variety of commercial areas if these trademarks are not protected, which could allow others to profit from the branding.

This most recent blow to his iconic portfolio is simply another indication of a collapsing corporate empire, as his fashion alliances are already history and his news website is no longer active.
