Paris Court Finds Ten Responsible for Cyberbullying Brigitte Macron
Ten defendants are found guilty by a Paris court of making false accusations and using abusive language online against the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron.
A Parisian court has found ten individuals guilty of cyberbullying Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In addition to making “malicious remarks” about the 24-year age difference between her and the French president, the defendants were charged with disseminating false information regarding her gender and sexual orientation.
The defendants were sentenced to up to eight months in suspended prison by the court.
Since Emmanuel Macron was initially elected president in 2017, there has been a persistent conspiracy theory that falsely claims Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman.
His future wife was a teacher at Emmanuel Macron’s secondary school when they first met. Later, in 2007, when Brigitte Macron was in her mid-fifties and Macron was 29, the couple was married.
