Dembele is healthy as PSG gets ready to face the Bayern powerhouse

Paris St. Germain coach Luis Enrique stated that Ousmane Dembele, who scored in the team’s victory against Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup quarterfinals, is eligible for Tuesday’s Champions League matchup between the French and German champions.

After suffering a right thigh injury against Lorient last week, France striker Dembele departed the field after playing just eighteen minutes in Saturday’s Ligue 1 encounter against Nice. Dembele had scored in stoppage time when a nine-man PSG defeated Bayern 2-0 in July.

“With any players, we don’t take any chances. However, Luis Enrique informed reporters on Monday that Ousmane Dembele is healthy because he has attended all of the training sessions over the past two weeks.

“He is getting more fit, and he will definitely play tomorrow. He is prepared to compete, thus he will play, albeit I am not sure how many minutes.

Since their defeat by PSG, the European champions, Bayern has won all of their games. They have won all nine of their Bundesliga games and 15 consecutive competitive games.

Bayern and PSG are tied on goal differential after winning each of their first three Champions League games.

The boss is optimistic that PSG will continue their winning streak against the Bavarians at home, since they have gone undefeated in their past eight competitive games.

“We are aware of how challenging it will be. Luis Enrique declared, “We are prepared and driven to succeed.”

“I think there will be similar situations to what we saw in the United States last summer, with lots of intensity… in front of our supporters, with the atmosphere we created every game, we’re confident that we can improve our performance level to try to overcome their pressure.”
