CAFCL: Yanga SC fired coach Romen Folz following their defeat over the Silver Strikers

Young Africans SC’s head coach, Romain Folz, has resigned after the team lost to Silver Strikers 1-0 at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the CAF Champions League.

The club said in an official statement on Sunday that Folz’s contract would be terminated with immediate effect, confirming the decision. The Frenchman was thanked by the Tanzanian champions for his contributions and wished him luck in his future undertakings.

Yanga’s preparation for the return leg of their CAF Champions League match will be overseen by assistant coach and former Malawi national team manager Patrick Mabedi.

The Yanga supporters are hoping that the new leadership can kickstart their campaign after Folz was fired amid mounting criticism following a string of patchy performances on the continental stage.
