Pyramids wins the African Super Cup with a late goal
Pyramids of Egypt defeated Renaissance Berkane 1-0 in Cairo on Saturday, and a late goal from attacker Fiston Mayele gave them the African Super Cup.
The only goal of the match was scored by the Congolese striker fifteen minutes from the end.
The Moroccan team won the Confederation Cup, the secondary award for African club football, while Pyramids won the Champions League for the first time last season.
The Cairo team has a semi-final position in the Intercontinental Cup in Qatar at the end of the year, and a victory will advance them to the final matchup with Paris St. Germain on December 17.
