Gonzalez has drawn the attention of goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis and received multiple calls-ups to train with the first squad following an outstanding U20 World Cup with Spain, where he excelled especially against Brazil.

With a height of 1.99 meters, he fits the description of a contemporary goalie and may soon make the move to the senior team. Real Madrid appears determined to make sure that its goal’s future is in capable, domestic hands.
