Coming from being untouchable to being unhappy, Vinicius Jr. may leave Madrid

Real Madrid’s new manager, Xabi Alonso, has started the season with six wins in six games across all divisions, Kylian Mbappé being the best player on the team, and some good new signings. But Vinicius Jr.’s anger is becoming the club’s biggest problem behind the smiles.

The Brazilian forward was very angry when he was taken off against Espanyol. He stormed to the changing room and then reluctantly came back. Tensions with Alonso have been building for weeks, and the fact that talks to extend his contract have been held up adds to the confusion.

Spanish news outlets say that things could really get bad this winter. El Chiringuito de Jugones says Vinicius might quit if his job doesn’t get better. Even though his deal doesn’t end until 2027, he feels like Mbappé has made him less of a star. Vinicius used to be the star of Madrid’s attack, but he is now out of form and has little control over the team, while Alonso tries to find a technical balance that rarely works in his favor.

The idea of leaving in January is becoming more likely. Saudi clubs are likely to test the waters, and the best teams in Europe are keeping a close eye on what’s going on. Real Madrid could quickly go from having a dream start to a nightmare if they lose a key player in the middle of the season.
