Postecoglou states that Forest will swiftly begin to adopt his style of play

Ange Postecoglou, the new manager of Nottingham Forest, promised Forest supporters that they would soon witness him imposing his offensive style on the team, despite the side’s poor loss to Arsenal on his debut.

Nuno Espirito Santo was replaced by the Australian coach on Tuesday, but he didn’t have much time with the Forest players before Saturday’s match. The coach was fired by Tottenham Hotspur for their terrible 17th-place Premier League finish, despite winning the Europa League.

Although his sides are renowned for playing energetic, aggressive, and occasionally reckless football, Forest was flat and could hardly compete with Arsenal.

However, Postecoglou claimed that his new charges performed admirably following Nuno’s abrupt departure, which he believed Forest “can put to bed and now start looking ahead” after.

He informed reporters, “It’s no secret, it’s been a very disruptive week for the players,”

“You have to realize that their world was quite different from ours seven days ago, and I know that I do.

“The guys’ endeavor and effort are admirable. I believed we persevered. Even though we never really controlled the game, I felt like we put in a lot of effort in the first half.

“It was kind of small seeds towards the end of the first half of us maybe being able to sort of cause them some problems, but the second goal straight after halftime killed the game.”

Postecoglou stated that he needed to “start bedding down some of our principles in terms of how we want to play” by playing six games across all competitions before to the international break next month.

However, he made it clear that he wanted to see Forest’s football improve as quickly as possible before their League Cup match against Swansea City in the middle of the week.

Postecoglou responded, “No, mate, it won’t be months, it won’t be weeks, it’ll be Wednesday,” when asked how long it would take for Forest to play in his image.

“I cannot afford to be time-wasting. A project is not what this is. This football team has to be stronger this year after having a successful season the previous year.

“It’s my responsibility to bring us to my destination as soon as feasible. Thus, by Wednesday evening, we begin to observe the incorporation of certain actual concepts.

“It won’t take long and I’m not going to let it take long.”
