Salah creates history with his third PFA Player of the Year award
The 2024–25 season saw Liverpool star Mohamed Salah win the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Men’s Player of the Year award, making him the first player to do it three times.
The 33-year-old winger, who finished as the Premier League’s leading scorer with 29 goals and 18 assists, played a key role in Liverpool’s championship run. He won a number of individual awards for his exceptional play, including Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season.
Salah remarked, “Of course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family, but you don’t think about the big stuff when you are still in Egypt,” in reference to his incredible journey from Egypt to international fame. As you mature, you develop a new perspective, become more ambitious, and begin to see the wider picture.
“This very special award hits different when we have an important trophy to go along with it,” the Liverpool talisman continued. What counts is winning, and we’ll strive to repeat this season. I am immensely appreciative of the players who cast their votes for me.
Salah’s most recent honor not only solidifies his reputation as one of the Premier League’s best players, but it also demonstrates his dependability, drive, and unwavering quest for greatness at Anfield.
