F. Haywood Highsmith is traded by the Heat to the Nets

The Brooklyn Nets announced on Friday that they had acquired forward Haywood Highsmith from the Miami Heat.

According to the source, the Heat also traded the Nets a 2032 second-round pick in return for a 2026 second-round pick that was protected.

After having surgery last week to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee, Highsmith, 28, is currently recuperating. It was anticipated that he would miss eight to ten weeks of action.

While training in his hometown of Baltimore, he suffered the injury. The two-year, $10.8 million contract he signed last summer is about to expire.

Highsmith played in 74 games (42 starts) for the Heat in 2024–25, averaging a career-high 6.5 points, 1.5 assists, and 3.4 rebounds.

He has played in 218 games (80 starts) with the Philadelphia 76ers (2019) and Heat, averaging 5.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 20.0 minutes.
