Mahrez remembers the day Kante finally snapped

Riyad Mahrez has revealed a humorous recollection of his time at Leicester City with N’Golo Kanté, describing how the renownedly reserved midfielder once shocked him with an unusual outburst.

N’Golo was a right-sided midfielder back at Leicester, and I was on the right as well, Mahrez remarked. To be honest, I didn’t defend myself and I cheated a bit. Because he was so shy, he never spoke. “Hey, Riyad, please, start defending,” he said angrily one day. It was humorous, and I was astonished. I began protecting myself after that day.

The two later won the 2015–16 Premier League title together, contributing significantly to one of the greatest underdog tales in football history.
