The person who said Gervonta “Tank” Davis hit her has decided not to press charges, so he is no longer facing domestic violence charges.
The WBA lightweight king was arrested on July 11 after a fight on Father’s Day of last year. Police reports say the fight got worse over personal issues, like Davis’s worries about their son’s sexuality. The person who said Davis hit her in the back of the head with a closed fist and slapped her in the face, which made her go to the hospital. Furthermore, she told the police that there had been about 10 other fights in the past, but none of them had been publicly reported.
A court date was planned for August 12, but the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office said the case was now over. prosecutors said the victim’s lawyer confirmed her choice not to go forward. They also said that the alleged victim’s mother, who was supposed to be a witness, refused to cooperate by skipping a pre-file conference and not answering calls or texts.
