US sprinter Kerley has been temporarily suspended due to his whereabouts issues
Olympic 100-meter silver and bronze medallist Fred Kerley was placed on provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit on Tuesday due to his whereabouts failures.
American Kerley, the 2022 100-meter world champion, intends to refute the claim that he broke anti-doping regulations.
In a statement posted on his X account, Kerley’s lawyer stated, “He strongly believes that one or more of his alleged missed tests should be set aside either because he was not negligent or because the Doping Control Officer under the circumstances did not do what was reasonable to locate him at his designated location.”
He announced on social media that he was “taking some time out to get back on track” after withdrawing from the U.S. track and field trials late last month.
“You should run a straight 100 meters. “2025 has been full of challenges,” he remarked on X. “Thanks to all my supporters.”
A month ago, he participated in the Grand Sprint Series in Norwalk, California.
