Wissa has returned to training at Brentford

Yoane Wissa of Brentford has resumed training even though he is still looking for a move away from the team.

That’s what BBC Sport says.

The 28-year-old returned to first-team training for the first time since departing the team’s preseason camp in Portugal in late July after speaking with new head coach Keith Andrews on Wednesday.

The Congolese international is reportedly still hoping to sign with Newcastle United before the transfer window closes in order to play for the Magpies in the Champions League.

According to the BBC, Brentford valued the player at “a figure significantly more” and turned down Newcastle’s £30 million bid.

The Bees are still searching for a suitable move for Wissa before the window closes on September 1st, with the transfer deadline less than a month away.

Wissa attended Brentford’s Premier League media day on Tuesday even though she did not play in the team’s preseason match against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. It is not yet known if he will play in the team’s friendly match against Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday.
