The majority of fans will disagree with the signing of Partey-Villarreal-Pena
The signing of Ghanaian sensation Thomas Partey will be opposed by most Villarreal CF supporters, according to Borja Pena.
Pena leads Villarreal’s fan club, Os Groc, while Partey is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Spanish La Liga team after departing Arsenal FC of the English Premier League.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the 32-year-old midfielder was charged last month with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The charges were related to alleged occurrences that allegedly involved three women in London, England between 2021 and 2022.
We all agree that, from a football viewpoint, it’s a fantastic opportunity, therefore it’s a complex issue. Having demonstrated his abilities in this year’s Champions League match against Real Madrid, for instance, Pena told The Athletic that he is a top-tier player.
According to Borja Pena’s interview, “I would not agree to sign a player with such serious allegations, and I would understand if the fans booed him on the pitch.” This is the sentiment of the majority of fans on social media.
He went on, “I think this is about more than just making the squad better, therefore I hope the club considers what the fans have to say. Regardless of the outcome of the procedure, the majority of supporters will not agree if they sign him, even if he is ultimately found not guilty.
