Ademola Lookman submits a transfer request and charges Atalanta with poor treatment and broken promises

Ademola Lookman has officially asked Atalanta to move him, claiming that he has been treated unfairly and that promises have been breached.

Ademola Lookman, who is extremely disappointed by what he calls the club’s terrible treatment and broken promises, has stated that he has submitted a formal transfer request to Atalanta.

“I’ve given absolutely everything over the past three years at Atalanta,” the Nigerian international said in a poignant message posted on X on Sunday, reflecting on his three-year experience in Bergamo. not only as a football player but also as a human being.

“The highlight of my time at the club was winning the UEFA Europa League,” he said, recalling the pride of donning the Atalanta shirt and passionately and devotedly representing the city.

One of the highlights of my career to date was celebrating with our supporters in Dublin that evening after winning the Europa League and standing shoulder to shoulder with my teammates. I still get chills when I think about it,” he wrote.

Lookman revealed that Atalanta has blocked the move without giving any explicit explanation, even though he has stated his desire to go on and agreed with the club that a reasonable offer would give him that chance.

He said, “I regrettably, the club is preventing the opportunity for reasons I do not understand, even though I have now received an offer that aligns with what I believe was discussed.”
He went on to say that after “many months of broken promises and what I feel has been poor treatment towards me as both a human being and as a professional footballer,” the issue had reached a breaking point.

“Unfortunately, I feel like I have no choice but to stand up for what I think is right because I think enough is enough. Lookman affirmed, “I can confirm that I have now submitted a formal transfer request.”

The forward thanked the supporters, referring to them as “the heartbeat of this club,” despite the chaos. He said, “I hope you can understand this incredibly difficult situation,” and expressed regret for the circumstances behind his decision. It’s just about defending what I think is just and moral.

Lookman wished for a speedy and peaceful resolution with the club as he wrapped up his remarks.
