Marseille fans had a small moment of hope when news from South America said that Neymar wanted to leave Santos and was linked with a huge move to OM.

The story, which was first shared by TyC Sports, quickly went viral online as rumors spread about the Brazilian star’s sad return to the club where he played as a child and his ongoing problems on and off the field.

That being said, Marseille quickly put an end to the myth. Le Parisien talked to someone inside the club who strongly denied the claims, calling the story “completely bogus.”

Despite all the talk about Neymar, OM fans can look forward to another Brazilian player joining the team: winger Igor Paixão.
