“Wissa would have been a target for United and Arsenal”
Premier League powerhouses Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly considered DR Congo sensation Yoane Wissa as a possible transfer target, according to former England interim coach Stuart Pearce.
Since joining from Lorient in 2021, Wissa has quickly established himself as one of England’s top attackers, recording 19 goals and four assists in 35 Premier League games last season.
However, Pearce now claims that Wissa would be a “major asset” for any Premier League team.
Pearce told BoyleSports that “Manchester United and Arsenal would have definitely been looking at Yoane Wissa,” according to Metro.
“If you consider his season from the previous year, he was outstanding. He has scored goals while playing both in the middle and with width.
“That’s a huge asset for any football team, and given that Nottingham Forest and other teams in the division have been moving players around lately, you would think that he might have left Brentford by the time the season starts.”
