The preliminary information regarding the Diogo Jota death investigation

The first findings of the Spanish authorities’ investigation were made public just days after Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva died tragically.

A tire on the two men’s vehicles ruptured while they were trying to pass another vehicle, resulting in their deaths in a horrifying collision on a northern Spanish highway.

The car, which was recognized as being owned by the forward for Liverpool, collided with a guardrail and started fire right away.

The Guardia Civil believes that “excessive speeding” was the primary cause of the collision, according to reports from AFP and AS. Although the speed limit on the road where the accident happened is 120 km/h, investigators think the car was moving much faster when the tire blew out, making it harder for the driver to regain control.

Additionally, preliminary evidence points to Diogo Jota as the driver at the time of the collision. Despite the ongoing evaluation of forensic evidence and testimonies, the tragedy has caused a profound shock to the football world, leading to tributes from clubs and supporters throughout Europe.
