Real Madrid has requested that the first match be postponed
Real Madrid has requested that La Liga postpone their August 19 league game against Osasuna since they are still playing in the Club World Cup and would be facing PSG in the semifinals.
The team has played more than 60 games in all competitions this year, and it will begin summer preparations as soon as the international event is complete.
AS reports that the Madrid team has formally requested a postponement of the game, suggesting October 19 as the alternative date. The Merengues think a brief respite is required following such a hard schedule, particularly with players coming late from summer competitions and the ongoing Club World Cup commitments. The Spanish Football League has not yet responded.
