Victor Osimhen is in line to join Galatsaray as long as Napoli maintains their £65 million release clause

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Nigeria, seems prepared to commit to Galatasaray, the Turkish powerhouses with whom he played on loan last season. However, there is still a substantial financial barrier in the way of a permanent contract. Negotiations below Osimhen’s £65 million release clause would not be entertained, the striker’s parent club, Napoli, has stated.

Osimhen has already expressed his wish to stay after his goal-scoring prowess made him an immediate fan favorite in Istanbul. The footballer has not left the home he and his family have occupied since crossing the Bosphorus, according to people close to him, suggesting that he intends to stay in Turkey.

Galatasaray is apparently drafting a better bid to satisfy Napoli’s demands, which is expected to surpass their previous offer of between £50 and £60 million. Due in part to the advantages of Italy’s Growth Decree tax laws, Galatasaray is offering Osimhen a contract worth about £16 million per season, which is about £4 million more than his present income in Naples. This complicates matters further.

The Turkish side is still optimistic despite the substantial financial commitment. In a move that would rock Turkish football, Galatasaray would acquire one of the most productive forwards in European football if they could activate Osimhen’s release clause and agree on personal conditions.

As talks proceed, everyone will be watching to see if Galatasaray can make Osimhen’s dream of moving to Istanbul a reality, or if Napoli’s adamant attitude on the transfer fee will keep the Nigerian star in Serie A for at least another season.
