Elon Musk regrets his posts on Trump, stating that they were too extreme

Elon Musk said that his remarks criticizing President Trump on social media last week “went too far” during their feud and expressed apologies.

The once-close partnership between the two well-known individuals abruptly ended last week, and tech billionaire Elon Musk has publicly apologized for a string of remarks he made about US President Donald Trump on social media.

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla admitted that he had overreached himself during the online dispute in a post on X, the website that Musk now owns and was once known as Twitter.

“I apologize for a few of my posts from last week regarding President @realDonaldTrump. On Wednesday, Musk wrote, “They went too far.”

The conflict represents a startling break in a once-strong corporate and political partnership. Musk and Trump had remained close colleagues, especially during Trump’s second term when Musk was appointed head of the Department of Government Efficiency, a key position in the administration’s broad deregulation and cost-cutting plan.

In addition to increasing Musk’s political clout, their collaboration bolstered investor trust in his businesses, SpaceX and Tesla, which profited from advantageous federal regulations and high-level access. But this week, tensions were visible to the public as Musk attacked Trump over what insiders called “fundamental differences” in leadership style and policy direction.
