Riveiro draws in his Al Ahly debut
Jose Riveiro drew 1-1 with Pachuca of Mexico at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale to start his career with Al Ahly, an Egyptian team.
Prior to their individual FIFA Club World Cup campaigns, which start on June 15, the two teams played a friendly match in the United States of America.
John Kennedy gave the 2024 CONCACAF Cup winners the lead in the eleventh minute, and they held the lead until halftime.
Mahmoud Trezeguet, Al Ahly’s recent acquisition, tied the score in the 51st minute, but neither team was able to find a winner before the end of the game.
Following the full-time whistle, which was scheduled as part of the friendly match, Pachuca won 5-3 and the game went to penalties.
Before playing Palmeiras and Porto in their remaining group A matches, Al Ahly will play Inter Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in the tournament’s opening match.
In group H, Pachuca is joined by Al-Hilal, Real Madrid, and RB Salzburg. Their opening match of the competition will be against RB Salzburg.
