Zuchu’s Bio Update Verifies Rumors of a Marriage

There are still questions over the marriage.

By adding “Mrs. Nasib” to her Instagram bio, Tanzanian singer Zuchu has openly acknowledged her marriage to Diamond Platnumz, referring to Diamond’s given name, Nasibu Abdul Juma.

Her 6.8 million followers took notice of the move, which gives the persistent rumors about the couple’s relationship a new angle.

This public affirmation follows circulating rumors that Diamond had purportedly granted Zuchu three divorces (talaq), shocking fans particularly since the couple’s marriage had not yet been formally recognized.

Diamond has broken his silence in a mysterious Instagram post implying he had previously been married, while Zuchu, the Sukari hitmaker, now asserts legal wife status. 

He considered the maturity required to remain silent while being falsely accused in public, without specifically mentioning Zuchu.

The maturity of remaining silent is one of the lessons I’ve learned. This maturity takes a great deal of patience; it’s difficult when someone unfairly accuses you and you know the truth in your heart. However, Diamond said, “I thank God that I have the wisdom to bear that kind of silence.”

He went on to say that he has made the deliberate choice to keep quiet in order to avoid speaking to the media and to let God handle his “battles.” The Jeje vocalist teased as he concluded his reflection:

“I am aware that everyone’s perception of Diamond Platnumz and marriage is unique. However, I would like to state now that Diamond Platnumz is already married. I’ll tell you how it happened one day.
Sheikh Walid Kawambwa, a local Islamic cleric, clarified the matter by stating that he performed Diamond and Zuchu’s nikah (Islamic marriage) five months prior.

Yes, five months ago I performed their marriage ceremony. Regarding the divorce discussion, I’m not aware of it. In a media interview, he stated, “Diamond would have told me if they had divorced.”

The public’s interest in the couple’s sporadic connection, which began in 2021, has been rekindled by the revelation. There have been public reconciliations, multiple breakups, and intensely romantic moments during their relationship. After the two formally parted ways in November 2024, rumors of a planned wedding before Ramadan 2025 started to circulate.

But Diamond’s actions at public gatherings, particularly his flirty demeanor during Juma Jux’s wedding, raised more concerns.

Furthermore, legendary singer Khadija Kopa, Zuchu’s mother, had previously rejected marriage claims because of unsolved bride price disputes.
