The Texas man who was arrested for trespassing at Mar-a-Lago claims he intended to wed Kai, Trump’s granddaughter
A Texas man who allegedly trespassed at Mar-a-Lago and claimed he wanted to “spread the gospel” to Donald Trump and marry his granddaughter was arrested early Tuesday.
The Secret Service claims that just after midnight, 23-year-old Anthony Thomas Reyes climbed a perimeter fence at Trump’s Palm Beach resort, setting off alarms.
At the location, he was apprehended without incident by U.S. Secret Service agents. A spokeswoman told The Hill that after Palm Beach Police officers arrived on the site and arrested the man, they charged him with occupied trespassing.
During the incident, none of the Trump family members were present.
According to court papers, Reyes allegedly informed police that he planned to talk to Trump about the “gospel” before popping the question to Kai Madison Trump, Jr.’s daughter, who just turned 18.
Reyes had encountered Mar-a-Lago security before. On New Year’s Eve 2024, he was arrested for trespassing on the property. After his most recent arrest, he was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail and pleaded not guilty. He was given a $50,000 bond and instructed by the judge to stay away from Trump and his family at all costs.
Currently enrolled at the Benjamin School, Kai Trump is dedicated to playing golf at the University of Miami.
