Singer Jessie J Shares Her Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Jessie J will have surgery later this month after receiving a diagnosis of “early” breast cancer.

The 37-year-old singer said on social media that she has been “in and out of tests” ever since receiving the medical news prior to the release of her new single, “New Secrets,” on April 25.

“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer before ‘No Secrets’ came out,” she stated in an Instagram video. I’m underlining the term “early.” Any kind of cancer is terrible, but I’m clinging to the idea. During the entire time, I had been in and out of testing.

Because there were “lots of opinions outside,” Jessie debated with herself whether or not to share her news.

However, given the title of her most recent single, “No Secrets,” which was influenced by a miscarriage she experienced in 2021, the “Who You Are” singer felt compelled to share everything.

She stated: “You can’t make it up, because I’m releasing a song called ‘No Secrets’ immediately before a song called ‘Living My Best Life,’ which was all planned before I learned about this.” For one thing, I don’t talk about it enough out of selfishness, so I just wanted to be honest and express it. I’m working so hard that I’m not processing it. I am also aware of how sharing has benefited me in the past, as I have received support, love, and personal anecdotes from others. I’m completely transparent. The fact that so many people are experiencing similar or worse things makes my heart sink. The part that kills me is that one.

Although she will have surgery and “disappear for a bit,” Jessie still intends to perform at this year’s Capital Summertime Ball, which will be held in London’s Wembley Stadium on June 15.
