Mikel Obi: “I don’t want to see him in Saudi Arabia”
John Obi Mikel, a former midfielder for Chelsea and Nigeria, thinks Victor Osimhen should forego a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The prolific forward, who scored 37 goals in 41 games for Galatasaray during the 2024–25 season, has continued to be a major target for European clubs over the past two seasons.
Osimhen ought to choose to join the Premier League or Serie A for the upcoming campaign, according to Obi Mikel.
Mikel told Metro, “I hope there is still a Premier League move for him this summer.”
“I believe that teams like Manchester United and Arsenal still require a striker. [Rasmus] Hojlund is not the right candidate for Manchester United, in my opinion. He works hard and runs around, but he won’t score goals, place them in the top four, or bring them awards. Manchester United may be the next stop for me.
He still has a lot to contribute in Europe, therefore I don’t want to see him in Saudi Arabia just yet. It would be unfortunate if he went there. Thus, he may also have alternatives with Arsenal, United, Juventus, and PSG. Let’s observe what occurs.
