Aït-Nouri is Manchester City’s objective to address their left-back issue

Rayan Aït-Nouri, an Algerian left-back, is a top target on Manchester City’s transfer wish list, the BBC reports.

In 37 Premier League appearances this season, the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender scored four goals and contributed seven assists for his team.

Since the departure of Benjamin Menday, who last played for Manchester City in 2021, the team has failed to maintain consistency at left-back. Manager Pep Guardiola has since used Oleksander Zinchenko, João Cancelo, Jasko Gvardiol, and Nico O’Reilly, a product of the Man City academy, with varying degrees of success.

Guardiola may be able to solve his apparent problems at left-back with the Algerian’s skill on both sides of the game.

If Aït-Nouri is to play for Man City in the FIFA Club World Cup, the club must get his signature by June 10th.

The Algerian side has included Aït-Nouri, who made his debut for his country in 2023, for their forthcoming international friendly against Rwanda on June 5 and Sweden on June 10.
